Overcome Alcohol Addiction with Hypnosis

Stop your addiction & Transform your Life

“We (the mind) settles for what it knows, it is easier and we live in what we have become accustomed to; change is difficult and frightening. We must walk through the fire to get to the other side. This discomfort is the only way that we can change and live a healthy and peaceful life. Choice it possible!”

“The best time to plant a tree was 20 years ago. The second best time is now.”
– Chinese proverb

Spirituality and Addiction

My programs are robust and highly individualized. for each client and issue. I start from a place that the deepest core of who you are is not an addict.

Our souls are not addicts; it is our human experience that has taken on the belief that the substance can provide relief. The mind is powerful, what it believes to be true will play out into your life.”

~ Rochelle

Alcohol abuse is one of the oldest forms of substance abuse or chemical dependency. For thousands of years, people around the world have struggled “with drinking too much.” Alcohol can destroy ones life, this includes the lives of others.

Many people who are in recovery from alcoholism or any kind of addiction attribute much of their success to the inclusion of spirituality in their recovery program. Many treatment centers offer spirituality as a prominent part of their programs. Spirituality suggests that you do not label yourself as an addict instead it suggests your that you accept that you have used a substance as a coping mechanism.

We do believe that “sometimes” addiction needs to medically treated and medication can help recovery. The question is, what happens next? This is where we come in because we understand and help you maintain sobriety.

Spiritual Psychology combined with Clinical Hypnotherapy can produce long-lasting results. With this being said, in some cases it may necessary to enter into a rehab center, getting off drugs can be very serious. The Thriving Mind helps people that have gone through a program or helps those who want to stop their addiction without needing medical assistance.

Addiction is a disease of isolation, and as a person sinks deeper and deeper into the disease, he or she becomes more isolated from others including oneself. Besides the actual dependency, deeply rooted feelings of inner insufficiency, unworthy and deserving, not being “enough” create the overwhelming need to use. The vicious cycle continues promoting feelings of isolation and emptiness, low self-worth, fear and unhappiness that can contribute to and/or perpetuate addictive behaviors. Addiction promotes pain and havoc into one’s life.

What we have witnessed is that addicts and alcoholics who unfortunately relapse often state that it was the loss of their spirituality and their positive beliefs that eventually caused them to use again.

“Our greatest glory is not in never failing, but in rising up every time we fail.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

Many people confuse spirituality with religion. Spirituality is raising your consciousness, at the Thriving Mind, Spiritual Psychology, the theory of Buddhism, Clinical Hypnotherapy and Aversion Therapy are used to change the perception of the conscious and unconscious so that new thought can become the lighthouse, the guiding light to not only recovery but promote long-lasting change and peace. “Peace is priceless!” Making spirituality an essential focus of any recovery program could mean the difference between a lifetime of freedom from addiction and years of repeated relapses.

Spirituality vs Religion:

Spirituality is not the same as religion. Religion is an organized, regimented set of specific beliefs and practices. In spirituality we believe that there is something greater than you – whatever that may be, god, nature, the universe, and for some individuals it may be an indescribable feeling that lies within. Spirituality is primarily about a power that is greater than you. In a comprehensive series of interviews with recovering addicts conducted by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, one of the key findings was that:

“Addiction is rooted in a physical, mental and spiritual imbalance. There is a necessity for a substance abuse treatment model that gives credence to the mind-body-spirit connection.”

Based upon this and similar studies, one can see that if a injured sense of spirituality (or lack thereof) contributed to addiction or alcoholism, then including spirituality as part of the healing and recovery process is a basic component of addressing this basic human need. This is especially true considering that humans spend much time seeking answers and higher truths in order to achieve peacefulness within –

If we can connect to who we really are, a soul having a human experience, and face the darkest parts of ourselves that we continue to invest so much energy into repressing, if we were to confront the dark night of the soul, we would see the light shining onto our shadow selves, those dark corners, the skeletons in the closet of our minds where we store trauma. If we chose to experience “them” for what they really are in a spiritual context at the moment without judgment or denial we would heal. Moving from denial into acceptance without judgment is difficult for addicts and alcoholics. The media etc, also point the finger of shame. While it may be easy to disguise/ hide the truth to others, it is impossible to remain in denial when practicing spirituality as part of a daily recovery program. Most of all, it does not matter what they think, it matters what YOU think! You are in control of your own life!

“People often say that motivation doesn’t last. Neither does bathing. That’s why we recommend it daily.”

Hypnosis and Addiction, Can Clinical Hypnosis Help?

Hypnosis can be a very effective tool in the early stages of addiction as well as in the recovery process.

What is “early stages of addiction” it is when you know deep inside yourself, even if you don’t want to face or accept it, that you have a problem. Whether you are drinking your problems or using drugs to “mask your pain” or even medicating with food, the issue still remains the same… Are you addicted?

These questions the addictive personality faces all the time. The only person that can answer these questions is the one who is suffering.

Hypnosis helps with the denial aspect; the client becomes more receptive to treatment and less receptive to the “excuses” he or she believes to be true.

Relaxation therapy and guided imagery are used in the hypnotic state; hypnosis can help remove physical symptoms of withdrawal, anxiety, muscle tension, and pain. Reinforcing commitment and painting the power of good choice acts as the catalyst of change.

Hypnosis helps to persuade at the subconscious level clients who want to leave treatment to hold-on and complete the program and let go of the constant struggle. Here is more about what you can expect…
